DOL Issues Tips for Selecting and Monitoring Plan Service Providers
The DOL prepared tips to assist business owners in carrying out their responsibility under ERISA to prudently select and monitor plan service providers.
Those tips include asking service providers about their services, experience with employee benefit plans, fees and expenses, understanding the terms of any agreements with the service provider, and assuring that the provider’s fees and expenses are reasonable in light of the services to be provided.
