Couri v. Couri
A complaint was made against managing partner, Anthony Couri, by other partner, Joseph Couri. Circuit court ordered defendant to render formal accounting. Partnership was wound up by a court-appointed receiver, and judgment was entered for plaintiff. Defendant appealed and appellate court reversed decision and granted defendant compensation for operating business after the partnership dissolved. Leave to appeal was granted from judgment of Appellate Court and Supreme Court held that trial court had sufficient evidence to determine net income of partnership, it’s finding was not against manifest weight of evidence, and that the managing partner was not entitled to compensation for business operation after dissolution of partnership. 447 N.E.2d 334 (Ill. 1983).
